Compression rings for tank fittings ½" - 3" provide a constant load to the gasket seal of the tank fitting and thus prevents loosening over time. Without the use of compression rings it is commonplace to periodically tighten tank fittings to prevent leakage because they loosen over time due to temperature and pressure fluctuations.
The PVC body contains a 17-7 SS spring which will maintain a constant seal pressure, preventing the tank fitting from loosening. This eliminates labor hours associated with tightening tank fittings as well as labor and possible environmental impacts of leaky tank fittings.
The compression ring is compatible with the BFAS (short body tank fitting) and BFA (standard body tank fitting) bulkhead fittings. If you have other tank fittings let us know and we will advise compatibility.
When properly installed on the outside of the tank against its wall, the CCP Series Tank-Tite™ Compression Fitting provides greater resistance to loosening due to vibration as well as dimensional changes of the tank wall resulting from atmospheric temperature changes, or caused by pressure and temperature changes of the fluid within the tank. Proper orientation of the compression fitting is designated by an arrow on the product label that points to the outside tank wall.
